About Lynn Chitty

Lynn Chitty, Chartered Physiotherapist ACPAT

I am a Chartered Physiotherapist (ACPAT) specialising in the veterinary treatment and rehabilitation of small animals. Having worked at Fitzpatrick Referrals (The Supervet) for 8 years I have developed a wealth of experience in rehabilitation.

I am based near Tavistock, West Devon and I work from home in a studio dedicated to thexphysiotherapy treatment of small animals. I work in a relaxed and professional manner to reach yourxpet’s full potential and help in their recovery.

I work closely with all the local veterinary practices as well as receiving specialist vet referrals from Langford Vets in Bristol, Cave Vet Specialist in Wellington, Ridge Referrals in Dawlish and my old colleagues, Fitzpatrick Referrals in Guildford.

My common goal is to provide excellent, evidence-based physiotherapy services in a kind and compassionate way.

I specialise in treating arthritis, neurological conditions, muscular-skeletal injuries, orthopaedics and post-surgical procedures.

I am registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the specialist group ACPAT.

I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1989 and I have worked for the NHS, Private practice and for the Army. Whilst working for The Household Cavalry in Windsor, I completed and qualified as a veterinary physiotherapist in 2008. I did a student placement at Fitzpatrick Referrals (the Supervet) and once I qualified, I was offered a position with the rehabilitation team.

I worked there for 8 years gaining invaluable experience in the treatment and management of dogs and cats (and the odd sheep!) This included electrotherapy and shock wave therapy, manual treatments, tailored exercise programmes and making bespoke orthotics. I have worked with the Met Police and treated their very talented Police dogs.

I moved to Tavistock, West Devon in 2018 and now work from home in a stand-alone barn dedicated to the physio treatment of cats and dogs.

When I’m not at work I spend my time walking on Dartmoor with my husband and Spaniel, Basil. I also volunteer with Dartmoor Search and Rescue, which definitely keeps me busy.

I support and offer advice to Spaniel Aid Charity No:1203314
